You have SO MUCH design and brand envy from looking at your competition’s website, but you're so frustrated because you have no idea how to create professional looking graphics like their's.
But first, let’s imagine how good it would feel...
To finally be proud to show off your website.
Or feel confident handing a potential client your business card.
I want you to get rid of your design envy (it’s not good for the soul) and instead become a design guru yourself!
The course is separated into four different modules which will be released weekly so you can easily digest the new information a little bit at a time.
Here’s what we’ll work on in each module:
Goal: Design your own social media or blog post template to create cohesive web graphics for your brand
And what good would a course be without a group of friends to go along with it?! Asking questions and getting design feedback is going to be a huge part of this course, which can all be done in our exclusive Facebook group just for students enrolled in the course!
This bonus is for anyone with an online presence (so, everyone). Together we’ll make social media banners (and make sure they’re the correct size, not pixelated, and integrated for mobile and desktop view), as well as talk through designing your own infographics and a custom email signature.
Be Your Own Designer will begin on October 1st.
Module one will be released on October 1st, and modules 2-4 will be released the next three consecutive weeks.
The next time I'm opening this class, it's going up in price by at least $100

"Mariah taught me literally everything I know about Adobe Illustrator. She took the time to answer all my dumb questions and was completely real about what I needed to know as a designer. She makes it so easy to follow along and is such a nice person in general. I highly recommend taking her course!"
- Alyssa Pearson, Pearson Design
Mariah is very upbeat, energetic and has the industry experience that made it very easy to feel very comfortable around new Adobe programs. She was able to easily explain the ins and outs I needed to learn in order to get the job done."
- Brittany Long, BNL Design & Photo
Although I really think you’re going to kick major butt in this program and am certain you’re going to love the course, I also completely understand that it may initially be a scary investment, so rest assured I have a return policy.
If for whatever reason you’re not satisfied with the course material, you may request a refund within 30 days of the course release date (which ahem, is enough time to get through then entire course). All you have to do is email me in the first 30 days of the course, let me know why you’re not satisfied with the program, and send proof that you've done work towards the course material. I value your feelings and our relationship more than a couple hundred bucks, so if you’re not happy with the program, I’ll issue a refund, no problem!
Hold it right there!
You 100% can be a designer. Graphic design relies just as much on formulas and rules as it does on creativity. In the first module we go over all of the important design principles that once implemented, I swear, will make your designs go from ammeter to amazing. Before I learned these principles in college, my graphics were ugly too – so don’t worry, you’re not alone! This course is about more than just learning the technical side of design. You’re getting the whole shebang so you can become a real, live, professional designer!
Adobe Illustrator IS a paid-for program, so you will need to purchase a subscription from Adobe. However, you can get Illustrator for as little as $20 a month AND you can get a free 1-month trial (which is also why I kept this course to only four weeks long – you don't even have to pay for the program until the course is over). Illustrator is only a few more dollars a month than Canva for Work and is still WAY cheaper than hiring a graphic designer (Ahem... $100/hr for a designer vs. paying for this course is kind of a no brainer).
You DON’T need to have any drawing skills to be a graphic designer. I’ll teach you how to essentially trace your own graphics. All you need is some practice with the pen tool (which is super different than drawing by hand) and you’ll be good to go! (I have some sweet worksheets to teach you this step too, so don’t be worried!)
Is this course right for you? Let’s find out!
Worried this course won’t work for you? I bet I can prove you wrong!
Plus, I want to point out that this course is SO much more affordable than hiring a designer. To put things into perspective, I typically charge $300 for 2-3 social media graphics. This course, however, will give you the ability to an unlimited supply of professionally designed social media graphics (along with any other graphic you need), so really you’re SAVING money with this course, rather than spending it. 😉
Here are ALL THE THINGS you'll get out of this course
"Mariah taught me the in's and out's of multiple Adobe programs – namely Illustrator – and I wouldn’t be where I am without her."
- Madi Gies, MadisonGiesDesign.com
Who teaches this course, anyways?!
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Mariah and Illustrator is my JAM. I’ve used it probably every day for the last seven years – in fact, I probably spend more time with it than my boyfriend. I’m a graphic designer and branding extraordinaire and although I work with some huge companies (by huge I mean Walmart), my real passion is working with small business owners, entrepreneurs, and bloggers. As a small business owner myself, I totally understand the need for being low budget and DIYing everything possible, especially when you're first starting out. I also totally understand wanting to learn new skills for yourself.
